Round up posts have become really popular recently, mostly because as a blogger, they are fairly easy to put together and because it’s a great way to share content that you love. If you loved a post or article, chances are, your audience might also. Round up posts (aka link love posts) are also great for days when you are struggling to come up with content ideas of your own or when you’re just not in a writing mood. Why not use those days to share the love?
I usually enjoy round up posts but have always had a hard time figuring out a system to save all the posts I love in one place to reference later. Enter Pocket.
Pocket is not necessarily new (it’s been around since 2007) but it is not something I used as a blogging tool until recently. What I love about it is that it’s integrated in to over 500 apps. I’ll show you what I mean.
I have the Pocket app downloaded on to my phone. Here is how I use Pocket in conjunction with the Bloglovin’ app. Are you following Blog Brighter on Bloglovin’ yet?
If I’m on my phone reading blogs on Bloglovin’ and I find a post I’d like to save for a roundup post, I click “Share”.
As you can see, options will pop up and Pocket will be one of them. If it isn’t right away, click “More,” turn Pocket on and it will now be an option. As soon as you click the Pocket icon, you’ll get a notification that it’s been saved.
Now when you go directly to the Pocket app on your phone, you will have your saved articles listed.
Here’s how I used Pocket to save an item on Etsy. Etsy item round up posts are also popular.
It works the same way on Safari.
To save an article while using your desktop or laptop, download the Pocket Google Chrome Browser Extension. Immediately, you’ll have a little Pocket logo in the top right corner of your browser. One click and it’s saved!
And that’s it! Whenever you decide to put together a round up or link love post, all of your sources will be saved in one place. Pretty neat, right?
